In this article, we are going to systematically outline the right way to apply for the South Africans Cecil Renaud Trust Scholarships for interested and qualified applicants.The Cecil Renaud Educational and Charitable Trust (henceforth ‘the Trust’) was founded in 1988 by Dr. Cecil Renaud, a well-known Durban Philanthropist. Dr. Renaud who passed away on 3 June 1993, bequeathed the rest of his properties to the Trust. The deadline for the scholarship award application is 31st October, 2020. Applicants should ensure they submit their applications on or before the specified date.South Africans Cecil Renaud Trust Scholarships application process at UK Universities in the United Kingdom. Following the application deadline, candidates will be shortlisted and invited to interview. After the interviews, the trustees may select up to two candidates.
Requirements
- This Scholarship award is open only to candidates who completed their secondary school education at any school in KwaZulu-Natal region.
- The scholarship is open to postgraduate students currently studying towards an Honors degree; or undergraduate students in their final year of a four year degree.
- Applicant must be lesser than the age of 27 at the time he/she applies for the Scholarship program.
This scholarship is only open to students from South Africa. Particularly students from the Kwazulu-Natal region.
- Exceptional academic accomplishment (at the least: undergraduate or Honors degree(s) gotten cum laude or summa cum laude; and as well, Dean’s Commendations and Certificates of Merit).
- Evidence of commitment, focus, leadership and stamina.
- A good track record in extracurricular activities and a drive to succeed and uplift South Africa.
- The promise of effectiveness in the chosen area of study and other areas.

How to Apply
All courses offered at the university.The Overseas Scholarship scheme, awarded every year, is granted for a maximum of two (2) years for post-graduate study program (Master’s degree (or equivalent) or PhD) in the United Kingdom at a university of the student’s choosing. The scholarship has been awarded to 26 of the best and brightest young South Africans over the past two decades. In prior years, candidates who have been granted the Scholarship award have attended, among others, the University of Oxford, the University of Cambridge, and the University of London, in a diverse number of disciplines. They have gone on to achieve great success in their chosen disciplines.
Our 1996 recipient, Max Du Plessis, is now one of the trustees and selectors. The 2017 recipient, Ms. Alexandra Grieve, commenced her MPhil in Film at Cambridge in September.Duration of Scholarship: Duration of study.Value of Scholarship: Fully-funded
