Scholarship Description
The Biodesign Innovation Fellowship award is a (ten) 10-month experience that grants aspiring innovators a repeatable and proven means of recognizing vital healthcare needs, invent new health technologies to tackle them, and prepare to apply those products into patient care via start-up, corporate means, or other ways. Also, the Innovation beneficiaries become part of the Stanford Biodesign community, a life-long global network of innovators that are quite passionate about bringing improvement to healthcare.Individuals with advanced degrees and/or substantial work experience in the engineering, science, computer science, business, product design, law, medical, or nursing fields are encouraged to apply. Applicants will be chosen based on their experience, passion, drive, as well as their potential to become leading innovators in the health technology area. Candidates are welcome from any country.The deadline for the scholarship award application is 14th August 2020. Applicants should ensure they submit their applications on or before the specified date.

The Biodesign Innovation Fellowship award is spearheaded by a team of greatly experienced innovators as well as entrepreneurs and they include: Director for Program Development – James Wall; Director of Team Dynamics and Learning – Doug Rait; and Assistant Directors – Kate Garrett, Victor McCray, and Sandra Waugh Ruggles; Director for Education – Dan Azagury. Stanford Biodesign Recipients become members of the Stanford Biodesign team at the James H. Clark Center which is on the Stanford University campus. Clinical immersion is completed at Stanford Health Care, and diverse other settings across the continuum of care.

How to Apply
Duration of Award: Ten (10) months. The fellowship award is a full-time, intensive experience that strats from the beginning of August through early June of each year. Stanford Biodesign Innovation recepients receive a monthly allowance and health benefits during their fellowship award period.
